Case Studies

The Central Bank of Ireland began exploring biodiversity in 2017, when it held nature walks for staff. In 2018, we supported the Central Bank to develop a Biodiversity Action Plan. This Plan aimed to integrate employee and community engagement with environmental actions to enhance the habitats on site, allowing the Central Bank to support biodiversity conservation.

As part of the process an ecological survey of both the North Wall Quay and Currency Centre sites was undertaken to record the species present. The survey resulted in plans to enhance the biodiversity value including planting schemes on these sites. We continue to support the Central Bank of Ireland to enhance their sites to support biodiversity, and engage colleagues and communities in the process.
