When Alkermes plc, a global biopharmaceutical company with a presence in Dublin and Athlone, became a member, its ambition was to ensure its sustainability strategy and ambitions aligned with best practice.
Through interviews with the leadership team and reviews of supporting collateral, we analysed the business. We wanted to understand what sustainability risks and opportunities Alkermes was already aware of in its day- to-day operations and how well it was responding to those through vision, commitments and management steps. We reviewed sustainability risks and opportunities in relation to the workforce, products, supply chain, customers, the company’s environmental footprint and its local communities.
We compiled our feedback and we advised the management team on how to use it in combination with their existing business strategy to address sustainability issues in day-to-day operations. With our critical insights Alkermes identified new opportunities to advance the execution of sustainable business objectives in order to achieve a better sustainability outcome.”
Kevin Brady Athlone General Manager:
“Our engagement with BITCI commenced with the aim of understanding best practice and ensuring that our sustainability strategy was aligned with the most progressive approaches. BITCI’s engagement from the outset was highly supportive by providing onsite support to the leadership team as we completed the benchmarking assessment. Through this assessment we have been able to tailor our approaches to focus on areas where we can augment our sustainability approach and target specific focus in aspects that will further enhance our sustainability strategy. The engagement with BITCI has been highly collaborative in this effort and I would have no hesitation in recommending them if you want to enhance your approach to sustainability”
