National Broadband Ireland (NBI) is rolling out the largest infrastructural project in rural Ireland since rural electrification, stretching across 96% of Ireland’s land mass. The NBI™ network will provide access to high-speed fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband to over 1.1 million people. This will cover over 544,000 premises that cannot currently avail of this through commercial providers.
In addition, the NBI™ network will connect almost 700 primary schools and approximately 300 Broadband Connection Points to high-speed broadband.
