Workday are a fast growing, energetic and positive IT company who have recently started to support our Employment Programmes. In 2016 they have had two big impacts; building job seeking skills for over 40 unemployed people and providing a high quality work experience placement.

Workday hosted two well-attended workshops in their lovely new offices on “How to use Social Media to find Employment”.  Linked In, Twitter and Facebook are now very important tools for finding jobs, especially in certain industry sectors, so it’s critical that our clients understand how to use them effectively.  Workday’s volunteer presenters Shonaigh Crowe, Elena Filip and Clodagh Downey are experts in the use of social media in recruitment and did a great job sharing their skills during both workshops, each attended by over 20 unemployed clients.  Feedback from our clients was very positive, with 100% saying they would recommend it.  Clients found it very practical, with one saying “The Workday team was very friendly and explained very clearly.  It was about real life and what you have to do. I’ve just applied some tips on my LinkedIn profile.”

Workday also facilitated an excellent work experience placement for an EPIC clients in their HR department for six months, during which they paid for training on Irish employment law.  This placement gave our client solid HR experience in Ireland, and directly led to her getting a paid HR position in another company. Thanks to Kate Mellon and April Connolly who supported the HR work placement so well.

In 2017 we are looking forward to building on the good work done so far, providing more volunteering opportunities for Workday staff and increasing Workday’s positive impacts for our clients.
